COMMON GROUND

Just a few random thoughts about painting and diplomacy, two things not normally associated with each other. Whether is it land or canvas both diplomat and painter negotiate over terrain to achieve and solution to chaos. At the heart of Common Ground lies the boundaries separating conflicting parties. Whether it is geographical borders of land and water or societal boundaries of culture and status I seek consensus in these landscaped inspired paintings. Lively colors and dramatic diagonals are the hallmarks of this series. Striving for a visual resolution I find myself as much diplomat as painter discovering Common Ground.
